Bad habits can be tough to break, trust me I am an expert and have had a lot of practice breaking bad habits. Like smoking, I got an early start at age 15 and then worked hard for 30 years trying to break the habit. Eventually I learned by having my first heart attack. I quit smoking immediately.
I tried learning how to play guitar step by step many years ago and learned a bunch of bad habits that were tough to break. Eventually I joined Jamorama to learn with their step by step tips for beginners to advanced.
I have a long ways to go but have already learned the right way to do so many things and have even broken a couple of bad guitar playing habits. I should point out the I did get some things right but those things I do incorrectly are what hold me back from becoming faster.
I thought hiring someone to teach how to play guitar step by step but he was too impatient and intimidating for me but I still had to pay him. Just two of the three lessons I paid for would have paid my lifetime membership with Jamorama.
Another thing that really turned me off of hired help was the fact he was only available to talk to when he was at my house. So between lessons I was on my own and that’s where I learned improper methods of chording.
With my Jamorama step by step lessons, which I’ve downloaded to my laptop, I have full access 24/7/365 and can take my lessons with me, even to our guitar jams practice sessions.
I have a Yamaha acoustic guitar so I was really pleased to find they have a specific lessons with an acoustic focus, exactly what I need.
More to come as I learn more step by step tips for learning how to play guitar.
