james-mann-2Today there are countless people trying to work from home to make extra month by blogging for profit. I am an online marketer making my living online but sadly I am one of the few who are making money blogging.

It’s a lot tougher today to make money online than it was when I started a decade ago but it’s still doable, with some learning and a few ways to monetize your blog. Personally I try to be a story teller on my money making blogs and it seems to work great but then again my blogs are mostly about my hobbies so stories go a long way.

I am fortunate to have a few blogs that are making money and blessed to be able to work from home to earn that income.

I earn my living online blogging about hobbies such as fishing and gardening. I do have a few how to make money online blogs but those took me quite a while before they started earning any income for me. I do much better with my hobby based blogs.

Once you have a blog that has content and is getting traffic you can start to monetize it with the examples below:

Adsense Advertising – Google’s Adsense program is an excellent way to make some extra money. It just takes some quality content to get started. People visiting your blog will see your Google Adsense ads, which should be set to contextual, and may see something worth clicking and you earn a little money.

I even have domains I am not using for anything right now and have them pointed toward Google and make Adsense money from those sites. I don’t even have content on those sites, Google takes care of it all.

Google Adsense is a good reason to have quality niche focused content as you will make more money from targeted traffic.

Review Products On Your Blog – I make the most income from affiliate marketing or selling products and services that are not my own. It’s great. I write product reviews that are informative and helpful and when my readers take action I make more money with my work from home blog.

Some things I promote only make a little bit of money but some other things earn me some really good income. It just depends on what I am promoting.

Text Link Ads – I joined a number of text link ad services where I listed all my websites so that advertisers can see what I have. They then request links on my site through the service and each month I earn money from those text link ads.

Paid Text Links – This is an excellent way to make money just for writing quality content people want to link to. I have link services contact me on behalf of their publishers and buy text links within my blog posts, while others contact me themselves. Either way I charge them for a year at a time and I make more income.

Sell Products That Are Yours – I have a couple of friends who work from home and sell their own products online. One friends bakes doggy treats and sells them from their website. However I write ebooks and reports that I sell through the Clickbank marketplace.

After a short time others were promoting my ebooks and reports for 60% commission and sales went up as well as my bank account.
